FTTC Launching new programme for Supply Chain Management

FTTC announced during the fifth International Conference for “Quality and Future Vision” organized by the Egyptian Society for Quality, that the new programme will start in July 2008. The programme is developed by the International Trade Centre - ITC (WTO/UNCTADE) in Geneva and leads participants to obtain an International Certificate or Diploma in Purchasing & Supply Chain Management

FTTC participated with the Egyptian Society for Quality “ESQ” as a sponsor for the fifth International Conference under the slogan “Quality and Future Vision”. The conference took place at Semiramis Intercontinental Hotel on the 6th & 7th of May 2008. The conference objectives was to present and introduce new aspects in the field of quality for the future expectations. H.E Dr. Ahmed Darwish, Minister of state for national development explained the Government actions towards acheiving qulality in Government services.

FTTC participated to introduce its new programme for supply chain management which will start in July 2008. This programme is designed by the International Trade Centre “ITC” as a led initiative that answers enterprises’ rapidly growing need to develop skills in this key area. FTTC signed an agreement with ITC to be licensed to deliver this programme in Egypt using ITC training material and to be an approved exam body (AEB).

During the conference Mr. Lim Hong Siew, ITC Consultant and Lead Trainer in this programme from Malaysia explained the relation between quality and the role of supply chain management, highlighting its importance to achieve competitiveness. Ms. Maragreta Funder, ITC Manager for International Purchase and Supply Chain Management explained ITC role and the steps of acquiring an international Diploma for supply chain management accredit by ITC. Finally Dr. Said Talaat Harb, FTTC Executive Director added that FTTC is committed to achieve its mission towards export enhancement through training and developing the human recourses working in the field of export and adding this programme to the portfolio of FTTC training programmes is expected to be a step towards competitiveness thorough achieving the highest quality with the lowest possible cost at the required time.
