FTTC programs are based on a curriculum that consists of six modules. The modules are designed to provide an integrated comprehensive package of subjects and topics related to export marketing and strategies, with the aim of enhancing exporters knowledge and skills concerning current global economic and trading environment.
All FTTC programs are based and the following six modules:
The first module starts by the internal environment, to understand the Egyptian export law, regulations and procedures as well as to get familiar with different government and nongovernmental entities that provide services to exporters.
With the second module we move to the external environment to introduce the global trade regime which includes the world Trade Organization (WTO) regulations, the economic and regional groupings and bilateral agreements.
The third module is the core of FTTC programme as the trainee is introduced to trade information resources and prepared to run a market study that ends by identifying export opportunities and preparing the export strategy plan.
Now after selecting the markets, the role of product development towards standards of quality and safety become a crucial point to achieve competitiveness. Thus, the fourth module introduces the concept of total quality management (TQM) and quality certificates.
The fifth module tackles all issues related to export logistics such as transportation, the terms of payment and incoterms...etc.
As illustrated above, the first five modules covers all aspects related to export procedures, but without certain skills, such as presentation and negotiation skills, language skills, and most of all information and communication technology skills, exporters will not be able to manage their business competitively. Here comes the role of the sixth module to cover skills enhancement towards efficiency and competitiveness.
